One of the newest developments willbe the transformation of a Grade II-listed building into the group’s latest hotel. Gainford Group plans to convert Grainger House into a new hotel in the heart of Newcastle’s Grainger Town.
The venture will see a stunning property brought back to life. The five-storey Grainger House - built by Richard Grainger in 1837 - is in the Grainger Town Conservation Area and has a total floor space of some 10,000sqft. The hotel will appeal to both weekend-break visitors and music-loving travellers, thanks to its central location, opposite to the city’s acclaimed O2 Academy.
Foodies will be pleased to discover that the hotel will also feature a new bar and restaurant, serving up tasty cuisine and stylish cocktails, as well as a new breakfast room, foyer and reception area. The first, second and third floors will be developed into contemporary bedrooms.
